Property:

Sebacic Acid is a white flake or powdered crystal. It is resolved in ethanol, ether and soluble slightly in water. Sebacic Acid was named from the Latin sebaceus (tallow candle) or sebum (tallow) in reference to its use in the manufacture of candles. The melting point of Sebacic Acid is 153°F. Sebacic Acid is slightly soluble in water. Sublimes slowly at 750 mm Hg when heated to melting point.

Usage: Sebacic Acid is used for producing polyamide resin such as Nylon 1010 and Nylon 610 , Nylon 810 and Nylon 9 and winter tolerant plasticizer DOS and DBS. Sebacic Acid is also used for producing corrosion-retarder, light stablizing agent, epoxy resin curing agent and high temperature resisting lubrication.
