MultiTherm 550®

Purpose 
MultiTherm 550® is an alkylated aromatic heat transfer fluid designed for use in closed loop systems from -15°F / -26°C to 550°F / 288°C. With outstanding thermal and oxidative stability, MultiTherm 550® provides superior fluid properties that will withstand multiple cycle heating as well as cooling conditions.

MultiTherm 550® is formulated with a maximum film temperature of 600°F / 316°C and a maximum bulk operating temperature of 550°F/288°C.

Closed Loop Systems
MultiTherm 550® is designed for use in li heat transfer systems, which the circulating loops is “closed” to the atmosphere but may have the expansion tank open to the atmosphere. To maximize the products superior thermal stability, installing an inert gas blanketing system on the expansion tank will guard against exposure to air and water.

Non-Fouling
MultiTherm 550® being a synthetic fluid is designed to resist the effects of oxidation. As a result, there will be fewer solids developed and less fouling. Systems without an inert gas blanketing will see significant performance benefits.

Low Temperature Pumpability
MultiTherm 550® is pumpable down to -15°F / -26°C, when competitive mineral oils that cover a similar temperature ranges are jelly like. When using MultiTherm 550®, your system will start-up & easily and provide many years of service.
