竞园艺术中心位于广渠路3号，前身为北京供销社棉麻仓库占地面积10万平方米，建筑面积6万平方米，2007年4月进行改造，通过市政基础设施建设、园区景观道路和旧仓库的艺术化改建、实现硬件设施的升级和品质提升、丰富和完善行业与产业功能来达到反映创意行业和视觉艺术特征，具有国际视野并符合生态原则，遵守场所的自然和历史特征的整体设计理念，2008年6月完成改造并投入使用。改造后的竞园成为集拍摄制作、图片交易、展览展示、创意设计、行业培训、版权保护、行业标准制定与发布为一体的文化创意产业集聚区。竞园-国际影像产业基地,影响中国的产业集聚地,各新锐摄影师的聚集地,及摄影相关的各类机构入驻,创意园区 在很多驻竞园的艺术家眼中，竞园就是嘈杂北京的一片艺术净土。如今，已有180多家影像公司、创意公司入驻竞园。他们日复一日全身心投入到艺术创作中，创意思维在竞园这片小天地中激荡驰骋。艺术化了的老厂房式建筑，在保留原址的同时，将舒适度大幅提升，配套设施齐全，适合举办高端商务活动。园区内Loft式建筑风格，简洁而有创意。斑驳的红砖瓦墙，纵横交错的街道，偶尔来往的行人，给人以时空交错的穿越感，安静得甚至让人忘了这里是喧闹的北京。与时尚店铺、餐饮酒吧林立、游人交织的其它文化创意园区不同，竞园专注于影像文化产业的发展，做一方艺术净土，给影像、文创艺术家提供了不受拘束的创意与灵感。 如今，一个立足于影像产业的文化创意产业集聚区正展现着的产业魅力，并不断引领和推进文化创意产业集聚区的产业升级.
