显然，日常使用中的铅酸蓄电池不可能长期处在25℃的环境中，一日中尚有早、中、晚的温差变化，更何况一年中还有春、夏、秋、冬四季更大的温差，因此目前市面上普遍使用的各种晶闸管整流型、变压器降压整流型、以及一般的开关稳压电源型的铅酸蓄电池充电器。以恒压或恒流方式对电池进行的充电，是无法达到铅酸蓄电池补充充电所需要满足的严格技术要求的。纵观过去所采用的这些对铅酸蓄电池充电的方法，以及根据这些方法开发的铅酸蓄电池充电器。我们不难看出，其技术是不够完善的用这些产品给铅酸蓄电池充电，势必直接影响铅酸蓄电池的使用寿命。同时这些充电器还存在着工作电压适应范围窄、体积大、效率低、安全系数差等问题。
