Use the correct charger for AGM or Gel batteries. The correct charger is a three-stage (regulated), digitally controlled, float-stage capable charger. The correct size charger will have an output current not less than 10% of the battery’s capacity figure. For example, a 35 amp hour battery (2 U-1 batteries) requires a 24V charger with no less current than 3.5A. 在EPS中一般采用额定电压12V的蓄电池串联达到所需的额定直流电压，在较大功率EPS系统中，为达到所需电池总容量，往往需要多组电池并联，例如200kW的EPS，90min标准配置需要8～10组100Ah蓄电池并联。而蓄电池制造商一般不推荐太多组（例如6组以上）电池并联使用，原因据称是容易导致环流和充放电不均衡。
不同品牌或型号的蓄电池并联自然是不可取的，而对于品牌、规格、型号相同的蓄电池并联，在正常运行情况下的环流和充放电不均衡则不是主要问题，因为并联运行时，各组电池的不均衡可以通过“环流”而趋于均衡。并联运行的主要问题应当是各电池组间的能流难于控制。例如当把一组亏电的电池并入系统时，系统中的其他电池组会对其充电，且充电电流是不受控的，可能远远大于该组蓄电池允许的最大充电电流，从而导致该组电池的损坏甚至发生事故；当多组荷电状态不均的蓄电池并联时，初期充电电流可能会过于集中在个别电池组上，导致过电流充电；当多组并联电池组中的一个电池组发生短路或漏电类故障时可能导致严重后果等等。因此当需要并联的电池组数目较大时，应采取分组隔离措施，例如将8个串联电池组分为两大组，每大组由4个串联电池组并联构成，采用功率二极管进行隔离汇流，并采用两个充电器分别充电。这样的系统将更为可靠性和安全。同时，在各电池组并联前，应先确认它们均处于充满状态。
