Description ESGARD PL-4 Corrosion Preventive Compound

ESGARD PL-4 is a brown waxy coating diluted in solvent. PL-4 can be applied via spray, dip or brush. Solvent evaporates in 1 to 8 hours and deposits a brown waxy finish common to the shipping coating you see on a new lathe or mill. Coating dries to what the MIL-SPEC describes as a “non-tack” finish. This product replaced Tectyl 846, Class 2.

Intended Use of ESGARD PL-4 Corrosion Preventive Compound

Electrochemical bond to metal and self-healing if abraded. Modern version of the WWII “Cosmoline” type coating. Coverage = 962 square feet per gallon at 1.0 MIL thickness.
