“感应雷击也是一种常见的形式，电流在引下线由上而下产生一个旋转快速运动的磁场，通过电磁感应击毁设备。”丁瑞军说，“感应雷击能量较小但其电压较高，所以防护感应雷应全面进行防护，防护级别可略微降低。”
如何保护通信设备
通信设备非常注重供电的持续性，因此防雷工作不可小视，性能比较的通信设备本身就自带有防雷保护功能，在电源进来的线路上，设有用来吸收高压突波的线路设计。“虽然产品带有防雷保护的功能，但是就雷电产生的感应电压有几千伏特或者上万伏特甚至更高，无论哪个品牌的路由器，单单路由器本身自带的防雷功能只可能解决一部分雷电所造成的危害，想进一步减少雷电引起的危害就要配备相应的防雷设备。”丁瑞军说。
据了解，为防止雷电对通信设备的损害，可根据雷击在不同区域的电磁脉冲强度划分防雷区域，不同的区域界面进行等电位连接，能直接连接的金属物就直接相连，不能直接相连的，如电力线和通信线路等，则必须科学分区，分级防护，后续设备实施等电位连接并以防雷设备来确保被保护设备的防护措施有效。
“在防雷设计的初期，通过分流、均压、接地、 屏蔽措施等进行综合防护，效果会事半功倍。”丁瑞军说
UPS是一种含有储能装置，以逆变器为主要组成部分的恒压恒频不间断电源。主要为计算机、计算机网络或其它电力电子设备提供不间断的电力供应。当市电输入正常时，UPS将市电稳压后供应给负载使用，此时的UPS就是一台交流市电稳压器，同时它还给所配的蓄电池充电；当市电中断(事故停电)时，UPS立即将电池存储的电能通过逆变转换的方法向负载继续供应220V交流电，使负载维持正常工作并保护负载软、硬件不受损坏。
UPS监控系统，有狭义和广义之分。狭义的UPS监控系统是指对UPS的运行状态进行监测、管理的一种解决方案；广义的UPS监控系统则是指不但要对UPS本身的运行状态进行监测、管理,同时对以UPS为中心动力环境系统进行监测、管理及控制的一套全面的UPS供电安全管理系统。UPS监控系统是伴随着UPS技术和产品的发展而发展起来的，是UPS供电系统的重要组成部分。
2 使用UPS监控的必要性
那么,为什么要对UPS实施监控呢?之所以要对UPS实施相应的监测、管理,其实是由传统的UPS系统本身的局限性所决定的。
(1)单机故障率高,且经常影响所支持系统的持续工作。传统的单机UPS没有备用线路或应急方案,所有的电力供应线路都为单线,一旦发生问题,电力供应中断就在所难免。这种情况一旦发生并进一步蔓延,若没有及时处理,极有可能造成无可挽回的巨大损失。
(2)可扩展性差。传统UPS的配置固定,且不能升级,如遇信息系统升级而导致要求提高电力供应能力时,只能购买新的UPS。再有,UPS供电系统本身只能保障供电的安全性,其对动力环境的监测和管理却无能为力。
(3)管理难度大。所有的电池或电池组在功能和使用上没有区别,当其中的某一块电池发生故障后,UPS对其不能进行及时地关闭和替换,只能报告发生了系统故障,然后由管理人员手工进行更换;另外国内多数中小机房无24小时值班人员,一般用巡查方式,不能一时间发现隐患,非上班时间、节假日等存在安全隐患,相关管理人员无法一时间获知并做相应的处理。
(4)维护成本高。传统UPS系统的维护是一项技术水平要求颇高的工作,就普通的更换电池工作来说,也要求由专业的技术人员来完成,用户一般不会自己去更换;而地点的分散,也为后期的维护带来巨大的交通成本与时间成本。
另外对UPS进行自动化规范化管理，是真正实现UPS供电系统安全可靠的关键一步，也是实现机房无人值守的现代化机房建设目标的重要内容。
